We had about 20 people last Saturday’s class and it was fun reviewing some steps. We’re going to break the into multiple circles (ruedas) to accomodate for more advance students this coming Saturday. Remember it’s is at 10.30am (and yes!!! we know it’s early

Saturday Salsa Sail was a complete success! We, the salseros, and the sail crew were very pleased to see all of you enjoying yourselves, dancing and socializing.

OPEN AUDITION! This is an intensive salsa training program for the dedicated dancer whose goal is to become an amazing dancer by training to performance level in New York style salsa (On2). Training will be Tuesdays 7:15-9:15 and Saturdays 12:30-2pm for 8 weeks in Irving. This program is open to 10 leaders and 10 followers.
Who: This audition is open to anyone. We are especially looking for salsa dancers with at least 6 months of experience in any style and with the passion to become a better dancer through hard work and dedication. In short, we are looking for true salsaholics! (If you spend your day wondering when you are going dancing next… then that’s you!) Trained dancers in other disciplines should also apply. Those dancers at an accelerate level may be invited to join an additional practice.
What: The Open Audition will run like a dance class, nothing too scary- you will not have to dance all by yourself! We will begin with some paperwork, then start the “audition” with a warm up, stretching, footwork, drills, and a pattern.
When: Our open auditions will be July 14th at 7:15pm. We meet Tuesdays 7:15-9:15pm and Saturday 12:30-2pm.
Where: The studio is 3401 West Airport Freeway, Suite 210, Irving, TX. It’s on the corner of 183 and N Belt Line Rd in the shopping complex with Target. We are on the second floor above the Half Price Books. The sign for the studio is Events in Motion. Click here for map.
Cost: The cost is less than $7/hour of training. The 8 week course is $250 per person, or $450 for couples. Students enrolled in the intensive training program are also encouraged to take any of our other classes free of charge, especially the 5pm On2 class on Sunday. Cash or check due upon enrollment. We also have payment plans available.
What to Bring: Please wear dance clothes (workout clothes)- no jeans! You should be able to move freely in your clothes and we should be able to see your body lines. Only dance shoes and socks are permitted in this studio. If you need to purchase dance shoes, you can do so at the first meeting, at our Sunday classes, or online at www.SaborDancewear.com, but socks are ok too!
On July 12th we will be sailing off into the sunset at 7:30pm with dinner and drinks (BYOB) and salsa dancing on a catamaran. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun! We went to dinner at Inca Cafe and stayed for the salsa lesson and dancing. All in all, there were about 25 of us for dinner. More showed up to dance and there was even a performance by a local group. We had a lot of fun!

What a neat concept! We had fun at this social which was full of great dancers- I wish more people had come because the music was really good! But on the up side, we had lot of room to dance.

and the 
Dallas-Fort Worth Latin Music and Salsa Dance group got together and brought 45 people to see the Gypsy Kings play at the Meyerson on June 16th to a sold out house. We had a pre-party in the lobby with dancing and drinks. The floor was sooooo nice and smooth! It was great to catch up with people we hadn’t seen in a while. Hopefully this summer we will see them more.
We had fun at the Friday night party at Tango & Cha Cha’s on June 12th (13360 Preston Rd, Dallas). Frederic and Katie kicked it off by teaching a giant salsa class to 85 people! We haven’t had that many there for lesson in 4 months. It was great to see everyone. Although we have taken a break from teaching our regular salsa class there for the summer, you can still catch us on Sundays 4-6pm at Dance Etc (15757 Coit Rd, Dallas) and Mondays 8-10pm at KD Dance & Cheer (6300 Industrial Dr, Sachse). We invited our friends and 
met some new friends through the Dallas-Fort Worth Latin Music & Salsa Dance meetup group at Esteban’s, a Mexican restaurant in Garland’s Firewheel town center. We had a nice dinner, taught a salsa class, and danced until they kicked us out. It’ll be fun to do again, but we may choose a different spot.
